The Rona Serozan Foundation for Comparative Legal Research was inaugurated with a conference on “Sustainability and Law”, hosted on 26 October 2022 at Kadir Has University. The event brought together distinguished academics from law, economics, and social sciences to reflect on the complex relationship between sustainability and legal frameworks. In three sessions, speakers examined the economic and institutional dimensions of sustainable growth, the intersections of sustainability with human rights, and the challenges posed by climate change, corporate responsibility, and energy transition. The conference highlighted how sustainability increasingly shapes both the theory and practice of law, and provided a platform for interdisciplinary debate on the role of legal scholarship in addressing global challenges.
