Financing Contracts in a Changing World
The globalization of trade, the acceleration of economic growth, and the pervasive impact of digitalization have collectively intensified the demand for financing, leading to a marked diversification of financial instruments. Alongside the emergence of innovative financing methods, traditional mechanisms—long employed within financial markets—are also undergoing significant transformation in response to evolving financial needs. These developments have prompted a reconsideration of the validity of long-standing assumptions underlying financing contracts. The ongoing evolution of financing structures, while addressing the complex requirements of contemporary economies, simultaneously gives rise to novel and intricate legal challenges. The need for a comprehensive legal analysis of these developments is, therefore, both evident and urgent.
In this context, the Rona Serozan Foundation for Comparative Legal Research, in collaboration with İ.D. Bilkent University, will convene a conference entitled “Financing Contracts in a Changing World” on November 28, 2025. The conference seeks to provide an academic platform for the interdisciplinary and comparative examination of the legal issues emerging from modern financial transactions shaped by technological innovation and current global developments. The discussions aim to foster scholarly dialogue and, where possible, propose constructive legal solutions to the challenges identified.
